During this second term, the students of 11th Grade were working on their Oratory Skills in their Language Arts classes. This is a long process of learning oratory devices and persuasive techniques, analyzing different important samples, to finally write their own persuasive speeches. Last week they finally showed their work, delivering their speeches in our annual TISLS Public Speaking Competition, where they were evaluated and where the three finalists from each class were chosen by a juror. Yesterday, September 1st, the six finalists, Isidora Canut de Bon, Nicolás Fraga, Vicente Díaz, Mateo Pierotic, Jonas Rantakyro and Emilio Rodríguez, delivered their speeches to the Grand Jury, who had the difficult task to choose the two winners who will have the opportunity to represent our school in next year’s Competition in Santiago. Our contestants took their participation really seriously and showed their best oratory skills and an outstanding command of the English Language. This year’s winners are Mateo Pierotic and Emilio Rodríguez, congratulations to both of them and our best wishes for what is to come for them.
