Drama Elective Course of 12th Grade’s spectacular farewell theater presentation
The Drama Elective for 12 grades closed the first cycle of two-year Drama Elective courses and their journey through TISLS with an outstanding presentation of their play L.A. Rewind, compilation of scenes from different tragedies. The level of the presentation made evident the English proficiency of each student and the highly developed ability to communicate, represent and express through the performance of a role on stage.
According to Miss Mónica Zepeda, this compilation and final presentation has been the work of The Shakepeas Company along the year. “Theater and drama have always been present in TISLS through its program for the Language Arts class. We had always wanted to have an elective course in drama, which in this case was composed by ten students who worked on this project once in the week during the whole year.”
“It is a beautiful process of building a theater company, gaining trust as a team, and finally presenting. This is the culmination of their year’s work, and they want to share it with their classmates and parents, presenting their play L.A Rewind, a compilation of scenes of the plays the whole Class 2022 has read along their years in High School in the class of Language Arts. They are four pieces of tragedies, which they have connected and for which each actor performs more than one character.”
Miss Yolanda Mai, High School Coordinator added: “This originates in the fact that the Language Arts program in our school aims at developing not only linguistic abilities, oral English proficiency, but it also aims for that language to be expressed through other manifestations and theater is one of them.»
