El pasado martes 25 de octubre, cinco alumnos de Tercero Medio tuvieron una destacada participación como finalistas del tradicional Concurso de Oratoria que organiza TISLS anualmente.
La actividad forma parte de la planificación formativa del nivel y exige que cada alumno redacte y prepare un discurso utilizando técnicas de persuasión y elementos de la oratoria frente a una audiencia. Este año, Miss Yolanda Mai y Miss Paola Morgan debieron seleccionar a los finalistas de cada curso, quienes se presentaron ante el Gran Jurado TISLS.
Los seleccionados fueron Valentina Muñoz, Benjamín López, Sofía Fothergill, Camila Valera y Sofía Portuguez, quienes impresionaron y cautivaron a la audiencia por su convicción y prestancia demostrando una gran capacidad de oratoria en diversas e interesantes temáticas.
Tras la difícil tarea de evaluar cada una de las presentaciones, Sofía Fothergill y Benjamín López se impusieron en el primer lugar, con sus discursos “Kids these days” y “Araucanía: A tragic chilean reality”, respectivamente.
Reconocemos y destacamos a cada uno de los participantes por su compromiso y buen desempeño, especialmente a Sofía y Benjamín, quienes demostraron solidez y argumentación frente al público y jurado.

TISLS Public Speaking Competition 2022: We do have two magnificent representatives
The Language Arts teachers proudly announce the successful participation of five 11th grade students in the yearly TISLS Public Speaking Competition last October 27th.
As part of their curriculum, all students had to write and prepare a speech using persuasive techniques and oratory devices during the second trimester of the school year. After days of fulfilling speeches, the representatives were chosen from each class by the jury, Miss Yolanda Mai and Miss Paola Morgan.
The finalists this year were Valentina Muñoz, Benjamín López, Sofía Fothergill, Camila Valera and Sofía portuguez. who impressed and captivated the judges demonstrating great oratory skills in different and interesting topics.
After the difficult task of evaluating each participant, the TISLS Grand Jury announced Sofía Fothergill with her speech “Kids these days…” and Benjamín López with his speech “Araucanía: A tragic Chilean reality” as the winners.
We sincerely congratulate all the contestants, especially the winners who demonstrated a solid speech in front of the audience.
