En el horario de Homeroom del miércoles 18 de agosto los alumnos de los cursos 12th E y 12th J tuvieron una actividad vocacional que los puso en contacto con egresados de TISLS de la generación del año 2000. La actividad fue organizada por la Orientadora del colegio, Miss Margori Goldberg y por los profesores jefes, Eduardo Milla y Juan Carlos Cura.
Luego de una presentación general de los exalumnos generación 2000, el trabajo se organizó en salas relacionadas con la experiencia profesional y laboral de los alumnos egresados.
En una sala Rodrigo Ledesma reunió a las y los interesados en la carrera de Psicología; Mahmud Buale, Kabir Daire, Bernardo Manfredini y Luz María Verdugo reunieron a un amplio grupo de jóvenes interesados en ingeniería comercial y emprendimiento; por su parte Daniela Domínguez y Gustavo Pössel entregaron sus experiencias en el ámbito de la medicina; Phillip Monypenny con información asociada a las ingenierías y a la venta internacional de tecnologías ; y por último Paulina Carvallo y Giovanna Daire conversaron con alumnas y alumnos interesados en el diseño, el mundo audiovisual el maquillaje televisivo y cinematográfico.
“Tener la posibilidad de interactuar con exalumnos, siempre es algo que nos sirve para poder definir y tener más claro lo que queremos para nuestro futuro. La charla que tuvimos fue amena, provechosa y una gran oportunidad para adentrarnos en diferentes vivencias de una generación con una historia completamente diferente a la que estamos experimentando. Fue una gran experiencia que nos sirvió para acercarnos un paso más al mundo universitario y laboral”, puntualizó nuestra alumna Isidora Pinto.
La actividad se enmarca en la propuesta del colegio por acercar a exalumnos a las actividades más cotidianas de nuestro quehacer y enriquecer las experiencias de futuros egresados. La meta es que las futuras generaciones sean apadrinadas académicamente por un exalumno que haya estudiado en la misma universidad de interés del postulante y con disciplinas afines.
“La actividad estuvo muy buena, fue realmente interesante hablar con gente que trabaja y tiene experiencia en los ámbitos que nos interesan, pero sobre todo, ver que aunque egresaron hace mucho tiempo, siguen involucrados con nuestro colegio”, señaló Anneliese Ehren, de 12th grade.
Agradecemos el tiempo, la disposición y el cariño de los exalumnos para integrarse a estas iniciativas.
The vocational talk that connected two generations
Last August 18th, our 12th grade students had a vocational activity that involved an important part of TISLS’ history, and combined our past with our future.
It was a generational crossover that gathered our actual 12th grade students with some of our 2000 alumni, in a conversation about careers, college and professional experiences.
The activity was organized by our TISLS Counsellor, Miss Margori Goldberg, and both 12th Grade homeroom teachers, Mr. Eduardo Milla and Mr. Juan Carlos Cura.
After a small introduction of our 2000 Generation, the students were divided in small groups, according to their educational interests. In that way, our former student Rodrigo Ledesma, spoke about Psychology; Mahmud Buale, Kabir Daire, Bernardo Manfredini and Luz María Verdugo talked about business, engineering, start ups and ventures; Daniela Domínguez and Gustavo Pössel shared their experiences in Medicine; Phillip Monypenny spoke about engineering, international sales and technology; and Paulina Carvallo and Giovanna Daire talked about design and the audiovisual industry, with a close look in production and makeup.
“It was really useful to have the possibility to speak and interact with former students. We had a pleasant conversation that was also a huge opportunity to get to know the experiences of a generation that lived a totally different history and scenario compared to what we are facing now. It was a great experience that helped us to go a step further on our way to college”, said our 12th Grade student, Isidora Pinto.
This activity, is part of an interesting proposal, that points to involve our former students in our daily method of education, making them part of our efforts to deliver a comprehensive education.
The goal is to make our alumni become sponsors of our future generations, sharing experiences and knowledge regarding professional projections and tendencies.
“It was a great activity, because we were able to speak to people that actually work on the fields we’re interested. But it was also interesting and surprising to see former students that graduated so many years ago, and that still have a bond with TISLS”, recognized our 12th Grade student Anneliese Ehren.
We thank our former students for their willingness and participation in this activities that reflect our spirit of community and establish what we know as TISLS’ essence.
