Una maravillosa jornada de historia, literatura, misticismo y religiosidad vivimos el sábado 22 de julio en el Programa de Extensión Cultural de The International School La Serena, a través de los bellos conceptos expresados por la doctora en Literatura, Luísa Ocaranza.
Nos aproximamos a la visión de lo femenino en la Edad Media desde dos perspectivas: aquella que se construye mediante la literatura y la crítica desde modelos ideales, pero al mismo tiempo, desde lo cotidiano; y aquella que elaboran las propias mujeres a través de la escritura como manifestación de identidad y de presencia en su sociedad.
Se trató, por tanto, de un enfoque integrador y actualizado del rol de la mujer en el Medioevo, que pretende ir más allá del habitual tópico de la misoginia.
A través del análisis de algunas obras consideradas canónicas en el tema, se profundizó el (re)descubrimiento de los ámbitos e imaginarios con los que éstas convivieron para comprender que, sorteando las lecturas habituales, muchas fueron educadoras, maestras y verdaderas promotoras del ser y la conciencia.
Agradecemos a la profesora Luísa Ocaranza por la interesante y enriquecedora jornada y a cada uno de los participantes que aportaron al análisis y la relevancia de la actividad y los dejamos, desde ya, invitados para el próximo 26 de agosto en que analizaremos junto a la doctora en Historia, María Gabriela Huidobro, el tema «Gabriela Mistral, Diálogos con nuestro presente”.
The feminine in medieval times: Cultural Extension Program
A wonderful day of history, literature, mysticism and religiosity was the one we experienced last Saturday, July 22nd, in a new workshop of our Cultural Extension Program, through the beautiful concepts expressed by the doctor in Literature, Luisa Ocaranza.
Together, we approached the vision of the feminine in the Middle Ages from two perspectives: the one that is constructed through literature and criticism from ideal models, but at the same time, from the everyday; and the one that the women themselves elaborate through writing as a manifestation of identity and presence in their society.
It was, therefore, an integrating and updated approach to the role of women in the Middle Ages, which aims to go beyond the usual topic of misogyny.
Through the analysis of some works considered canonical on the subject, the (re)discovery of the aspects and imaginaries with which they coexisted was deepened to understand that, bypassing the usual readings, many were educators, teachers and true promoters of being and awareness.
We thank Professor Luisa Ocaranza for the interesting and enriching day and each one of the participants who contributed to the analysis and the relevance of the activity and we leave you, of course, invited for next August 26th, when we will learn and discuss among “Gabriela Mistral, Dialogues with our present”, with the doctor in History, María Gabriela Huidobro.
