Poner en práctica los contenidos aprendidos en la Unidad de Argumentación de la asignatura de Lengua y Literatura, fue el objetivo del debate efectuado la semana del 17 al 21 de julio y que convocó a los estudiantes de 8th CZ y 8th NG, a cargo de Miss Polett Castillo y Miss Natalia Godoy, respectivamente.
Nuestros alumnos debatieron en torno a temas controversiales como el aborto, la pena de muerte, la adopción homoparental e inteligencia artificial, evidenciando liderazgo, organización, compromiso, trabajo en equipo, responsabilidad y respeto.
Los argumentos presentados fueron respaldados con fuentes confiables, a la vez que destacó la capacidad de los estudiantes para evaluar críticamente las intervenciones de los debatientes oponentes, así como el desarrollo de su oratoria.
Sin duda fue un proceso enriquecedor que sacó a relucir las habilidades y potencial que tienen nuestros estudiantes.
Ability to argue and development of oratory stood out in 8th graders debate
To put into practice the contents learned in the Argumentation Unit in Spanish Language and Literature, was the objective of the debate held between last July 17th and 21st, and which brought together the students of 8th CZ and 8th NG, led by Miss Polett Castillo and Miss Natalia Godoy, respectively.
Our students debated around controversial topics such as abortion, the death penalty, homoparental adoption and artificial intelligence, demonstrating leadership, organization, commitment, teamwork, responsibility and respect.
The arguments presented were supported by reliable sources, while highlighting the students’ ability to critically evaluate the interventions of the opposing debaters, as well as the development of their oratory.
Without a doubt, it was an enriching process that brought out our students’ abilities and potential in oratory, as an instrument that will be useful in every aspect of their future.
